Community engagement toolkit | This toolkit is aimed at supporting researchers who are developing grant applications with, and for, diverse communities. It has evolved from what our community partners in the Reaching Out Projects taught us about how they would like researchers to engage with them to build sustainable community relationships. We have transferred their knowledge and experience to the world of health and social care research into ten guiding principles. The ten guiding principles included in this toolkit were co-produced with community partners involved across the four Reaching Out Projects facilitated by the Research Design Service in the East of England, North East and North Cumbria , South Central and Yorkshire and Humber regions. The illustrations were created by artist Bethan Laker Bethan Laker Illustrator in collaboration with North East and North Cumbria Reaching Out partners. | 12 May, 2022 |

NIHR Research Design Service: Research Impact Guide | This short and easy to use guide has been developed for NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) advisers to refer to when providing support and guidance to clients on how they can introduce impact into the design of their research proposal. It is also shared here with clients to help you understand impact and consider some of the more practical measures they can use when undertaking research. The overall aim is to ensure that impact planning, knowledge mobilisation and implementation issues are considered and embedded into the research design and application development process that then ensures that the planned/intended impacts can be realised both during and at the end of the research project. | 24 March, 2022 |
